My name is Will Ireland. I am a freshman at Kishwaukee College, although this is my second year on the kscope staff. I am a "computer geek". I am majoring in computer networking. I am the Web Editor for the Kaleidoscope. I find the class to be very fun, I never thought I'd like writing, but have found writing for the paper very enjoyable. I am very excited about the paper going digital, seeing as the rest of the world has already done so. My blog can be found at blog.willissolutions.biz

Jennifer Jossendal is teaching History 299 on World War II with a new twist: The class will be taught on iPads.

With the help of a grant from the KC Foundation, Jossendal is able to offer iPads to a limited number of students at a greatly reduced price. Students will be able to get their iPad for $250, a 50 percent discount. As long as students can pass HIS-299 with a “C” or better, the iPad belongs to the student. Students who fail to meet this requirement will be charge the full amount of the iPad.

Instructors at Kishwaukee College may surprise you if you get to know them.  One such Instructor is Mark Uscian.  Uscian teaches the Cisco Networking program and other computer networking classes at Kish.  He started teaching junior high and high school in Kirkland as soon as he graduated from college.  He taught for six years until he decided to go into business.

Uscian found that the world was moving into an era of computers and the Internet.  He began working in the computer industry at a corporation in Oak Brook.
