Sexual orientation is defined as one’s natural preference in sexual partners. Most people know the basic terms: heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual. However, many people don’t realize that one’s sexual orientation isn’t limited to those three terms; there is also transsexual, transgender, pansexual and many more. More importantly, many people don’t realize that these terms can be expanded beyond just a sexual nature; it is part of one’s self-identity.

William “Billy” Curl is set to go on trial June 11, 2012. Curl is accused of murdering NIU student Antinette “Toni” Keller in 2010. For the last two years lawyers have been preparing to go on trial, recently filing motions as to what information can be discussed during the trial.

On May 2, the Kishwaukee College Diverse Student Services paired with the Diversity Committee to hold a presentation for diversity in the college cafeteria.

"We chose to do this so that we could celebrate diversity as well as acknowledge the things we have already done here on campus throughout the year," explained Keith Barnes, coordinator of Diverse Student Services & Transfer Center.

As the spring 2012 semester starts to wind down at Kishwaukee College, for Evelina Cichy, things are just starting to get exciting for one reason in particular. 

Cichy, Dean of Adult Education and Transition Programs, has recently accepted the new position of Vice President of Instruction. The Vice President of Instruction currently is Jean Kartje, who will be leaving to attend a position at College of DuPage.
